Online entries must be received by December 30th, 2008 at 12:00:01 p.m. PT. Online entries received after December 30th, 2008  at 12:00:01 p.m. PT will not be eligible. Entries will be judged by the panel of judges beginning Jan 1st, 2008  through July 30th, 2008 . Prize winners will be announced on or around Feb 1, 2008.  To enter, visit www.valyou.org/groups.htm, fill in the online entry form and submit it in accordance with the on-screen directions during the Contest Period. Neither ValYOU, Inc.  ("Sponsor") nor the contest administrator  "Administrator" will verify receipt of entries. All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

2. ELIGIBILITY: To enter the Contest you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and be eligible to enter. The Competition is void in Puerto Rico and the province of Quebec, and where restricted or prohibited by law. Employees of Sponsor, Contest Administrator and their respective affiliated companies, parents, subsidiaries, franchisees, and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, "Contest Entities"), and members of the immediate families (parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside) and households (whether related or not) of such employees, are ineligible to participate in this Contest. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all matters related to this contest. Judges will not be responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or delayed entries. Limit of one (1) entry per person and per authorized e-mail account holder. In the event there is a dispute over who submitted any given entry, “authorized e-mail account holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, Internet service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational, government, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Only complete entries will be accepted. If a submission is incomplete or does not comply with the specifications and rules described herein, then the submission will be disqualified.

3. STEPS. There are two (2) steps by which to enter this contest:

a. Activation Registration (when group is first formed). Entrants must log on to www.ValYOU.org/groups.htm  (the “Contest Website”), and follow the on-screen directions to register as a leader. Only one entry per person. All entries must be registered at least 6 weeks before competition deadline, preferably before.

b. Activity Record (when competition cycle has competed). The leader of the ValYOU Freedom Leadership group keeps a log of activities and prior to competition deadline, emails a completion form which ValYOU will use to determine winners and verify activities. This form can also be downloaded at:  www.ValYOU.org/groups.htm Only one entry per person.

4. METHODS OF ENTRY: By on-line Form (see #3) or by mail. While ValYOU prefers registrants with an email address, entrants may also complete this process by mail-in method by sending his or her (a) Activation Registration information and (b) Activity Record to: ValYOU Freedom Leadership Award,  P.O. Box 54111, Cincinnati, OH, 45254. U.S.A. Entries must be received or postmarked on or before July 1, 2008 to be eligible.

5. JUDGING CRITERIA FOR ENTRIES: The entries shall be judged based on the following judging criteria with equal weight. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries and the quality of the entries. The story of how you carried out your plan and your subsequent accomplishments in your final report must not exceed 1000 words and must be typed or emailed (no hand written letters) in English. The entries will be judged by a panel of judges in their sole discretion according to the Judging Criteria. The criteria for this competition is two-fold:

a. It must be LIBERTY orientated. We enthusiastically endorse those programs designed to liberate a community and awaken people to their inherent personal freedoms. For instance, rather than giving people handouts, we prefer programs that empower people to become self-sufficient.  A competition project where people who gain knowledge as well as practical help are most likely to stay liberated. Target a specific problem of concern to you and find ways to help people in the community become involved as part of the answer so that your efforts leave a lasting legacy. You can bring liberty to a community in various ways: financially, legislatively, educationally, physically (health programs) etc., but be sure to define how your projects sets people free.

b. It must be LOCAL. Your project must be targeted at making changes in your local area - not overseas or in another part of the country, but rather in your own general geographic region. You also need to illustrate in your competition report how you used local resources to action/fund your project.

Note: As a registered leader of a competition and provided you are a verified subscriber to the Leadership Academy, you are edible for six leadership practicum credits provided they bring some measure of liberty to your local community. Our criteria to qualify for credit accrual is broad so your project is likely to meet approval, but if you are in any doubt, it is your responsibility to email us before the conclusion of the competition to present your project for feedback. Even if we have granted provisional approval for a project via email or in conversation prior to competition completion, ValYOU always reserves the rights (with full indemnity) to not grant a leader with practicum credits if once we have reviewed the completed project and have all information at hand, that it is determined the competition project does not fall within our criteria.

6. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize: ValYOU Freedom Leadership Cup, The Story Featured on Television and US$1,000 (made payable to the leader only with dissemination to group members at his/her discretion). ValYOU will not be held liable. By participating in the competition, the leader and group members agree to hold ValYOU harmless against any proceedings, or damages including those terms available at www.ValYOU.org/disclaimer.htm  Runner-up Regional prizes may include monetary prizes depending on local law (amounts and regions to be be announced) and includes a copy of Brenda Wehrman's book and honorable mention in publications.
